What is Harrow Communities Click?

Harrow Communities Click is a partnership of Harrow organisations that are committed to improving the lives of local vulnerable people. The project is being funded by Harrow Council, to help vulnerable adults and Harrow residents to support and help each other and build strong friendships through the exchanging of time. The lead organisation for the project is Age UK Harrow, and the other partners are Mind in Harrow, Harrow Mencap, Harrow Carers, Third Sector Potential CIC and Timebanking UK.

Harrow Communities Click

Harrow Communities Click is a new way in which vulnerable adults and any adult who lives in the London Borough of Harrow, aged 18 or over, can exchange services and skills, as well as form mutual networks with others who have a shared interest.

As a member of Harrow Communities Click, we would ask that you be courteous and respect each other and the staff at all times. We have a Members handbook with contacts, Code of Conduct and Safeguarding guidelines. If you do not already have a copy please click here for details.

Benefits of the project

The project is a great way to give to others, whilst gaining something for yourself. The time exchange works in that everyone’s hour of time is equal to that of everyone else, so if you support someone by telephone for an hour you gain an hour’s time credit, you might then spend that on someone weeding and tidying your garden for an hour. You might also use your time credits to gain a new skill such as public speaking. If you have a particular interest, such as walking, that you would like to pursue with others, you can set up a mutual network with other Harrow Communities Click members to do walks together. The project is a great way to meet people, make new friends and spend time with people who have similar interests to you.
